An attorney on staff — not on retainer.

Most title companies outsource their legal and curative work. We don't. With a licensed attorney in-house, complex title matters — heirship, probate, trusts, entity and commercial closings, and curative — are reviewed and resolved right here. The result: fewer delays, cleaner titles, and legal expertise built into every closing.

What Clients Say

Texas homeowners & pros trust us

★★★★★
"Texans First Title Company was wonderful to work with on behalf of my sellers in Plano… both April and Kali were extremely knowledgeable and helpful throughout the process. What really stood out was the level of customer service. The owner, Mr. Charlie Kim, personally came out to greet me and thank me for the opportunity to work with their team… Texans First Title Company exceeded expectations, and I look forward to working with them again."

Common Questions

Title & escrow, explained plainly

What is title insurance and why do I need it?
Title insurance protects you against financial loss from defects in a property's title — things like unpaid liens, forged documents, errors in public records, or undisclosed heirs. An owner's policy protects you; a lender's policy protects your mortgage lender. Both are one-time premiums paid at closing, and coverage lasts as long as you own the home.
How long does the closing process take?
A typical residential closing takes 30–45 days from the time a contract is executed. Refinances can often close in 3–4 weeks. We work to match your timeline and send proactive updates at every milestone so you're never left wondering where things stand.
What should I bring to closing?
You'll need a government-issued photo ID, your remaining down payment funds via wire or certified check (we'll confirm exact amounts beforehand), and proof of homeowner's insurance if you're buying. We'll send you a complete checklist before your closing date so nothing is a surprise.
Can I choose my own title company in Texas?
Yes — in Texas, buyers typically have the right to choose the title company for their side of the transaction. Don't feel obligated to use whoever the listing agent or builder recommends. You're free to work with the company that gives you the best service and value.
What is wire fraud and how do you protect against it?
Wire fraud is a growing scam where criminals intercept closing emails and send fake wiring instructions. We use verified, encrypted channels and confirm all wire instructions by phone using the number on our website — never from an email alone. We will never change wiring instructions at the last minute without a verified call.
What's the difference between an owner's and a lender's title policy?
A lender's policy protects your mortgage lender's interest and is almost always required when financing. An owner's policy protects your equity and is optional — but strongly recommended. Both are typically issued at the same closing for a modest combined premium.
